Thai police go undercover as lion dancers to catch thief

A 33-year-old man was apprehended on Wednesday by Thai police officers disguised as a lion dance troupe.

Lion dances are a Chinese tradition, and usually performed in celebration of the Lunar New Year.

Police went undercover at a temple fair in Nonthaburi in order to capture the alleged thief, hiding a secret camera in the head of the lion.

The suspect had been arrested twice previously and was wanted for multiple counts of theft, Thai police said in a statement.
