5 things you should never ignore when you smell gas at home

A smell that becomes less noticeable does not prove that the danger has passed. Do not return indoors simply because you can no longer smell gas. Move to a safe location, contact the appropriate emergency service or LPG provider and follow their instructions before re-entering.

If you suspect a gas leak, do not wait for the smell to become stronger. Get out immediately, avoid flames and electrical switches, and make the necessary emergency calls from a safe location. Your priority should be getting people to safety, not finding or fixing the leak yourself.
