4 injured after Air Canada plane collides with vehicle at New York’s La Guardia Airport



Four people were injured when an Air Canada passenger plane collided with a vehicle on a La Guardia Airport runway late Sunday, according to authorities and a source familiar with the incident.

The New York Police Department’s media affairs office confirmed the collision between a plane and what appeared to be a Port Authority of New York vehicle, but did not provide any information on injuries.

The New York Fire Department confirmed an incident took place on a La Guardia runway at 11:38 p.m. but had no details.

The source said the situation said 76 passengers and four crew members were on board the plane.

Video posted on social media a passenger jet on the runway with its cockpit high and the underside of its forward fuselage mangled.

The National Transportation Safety Board said it was gathering information regarding the situation. It did not provide any other details early Monday.

The airport is in New York City’s Queens borough.
